On the 3rd of December, invited guests will not only see the film THE COVE, which has been awarded an Oscar as the best documentary and several other film awards, but also have the opportunity to discuss with its main protagonist, Ric O’Barry.
Chances and limitations of critical documentaries
What can critical documentaries bring about?
Which effects did THE COVE have on dolphin drive hunts in Japan?
Ric O’Barry will discuss about these and other interesting questions after the screening.
Before transform himself into a dolphin conservationist, Ric O’Barry worked as a dolphin trainer (i.a. “Flipper”). Now he is standing up for dolphin protection around the world. The documentary is about the dolphin drive hunt in Taiji, Japan, and its linkage to live dolphin captures for the entertainment park industry.
